Quick answer

Summer is strongest for Svaneti, Kazbegi and other mountain-focused travel. Tbilisi and Kakheti still fit, but plan hot afternoons deliberately. Add Batumi or a smaller Black Sea base when swimming and the coast matter enough to justify the extra travel time.

Move the center of gravity toward the mountains

If I were visiting in July or August, I would give the mountain part of the trip more nights rather than treating it as a side excursion. Kazbegi is easier to fit into a shorter route; Svaneti deserves a longer chapter and careful transport planning.

Book anchor mountain stays early when dates are fixed, then verify the exact trail or village plan closer to travel. Summer improves access but does not remove the need to check weather and road conditions.

Make city and wine-country days work around the heat

Tbilisi is still an essential base for many first trips, but I would schedule the longest walks in the morning or evening and treat the middle of the day as slower time. The same logic applies in Kakheti, where long outdoor sightseeing and winery visits can be arranged around the hottest hours.

A property with an easy location becomes especially valuable when you want to return for a midday break. The farther the stay sits from restaurants or the old city, the more every heat-avoidance decision turns into another vehicle trip.

Choose the Black Sea because you want the Black Sea

Batumi is worthwhile when sea time, nightlife, restaurants and an urban coastal atmosphere are part of the holiday. Smaller places such as Gonio, Kvariati or Kobuleti can work better when the beach itself matters more than city life.

I would not add the coast automatically to a mountain-heavy itinerary. Svaneti plus Batumi can be a coherent western chapter, but it needs enough days that the connection does not leave both places feeling rushed.
